Our First Day Back At Inti

Inti Runakunaq Wasin (House of the People of the Sun in Quechua, the local language of Cusco) is an organization similar to a boys and girls club for extremely poor children in the city. It’s a place where they come and get help with their homework, learn crafts, play games, and get a warm meal.

The children were extremely excited that we were back. Since our engagement, they have had a picture of us hanging in the room and were excited to hear that we were married. Many of the children are new, but there were some that were the same. Wilfredo (back right) had graduated from high school, but comes back everyday still, now as a volunteer helping with the kids. He is by far one of the most impressive 18 year olds that we have ever met. He's studying for an entrance exam in November to become a police officer. Charly and his sister Ameila were both there. On our second day, Charly brought his English book with him to show us that he still had it. We had bought all the children English books last year and taught classes. Seeing the book made our day!
